My interest in complementary therapies began in 1980 as I looked for ways to improve my health and well-being. I was drawn to study the Alexander Technique because so many of my friends had benefited from learning it.
I also liked the fact that it was not a therapy but offered the means whereby we can learn to take care of ourselves. I qualified as a Teacher of The Alexander Technique in 1986, having completed a full-time 3-year training recognized by the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique and came to Cardiff in 1988.
I have been teaching individuals and groups since then. I have been a part-time lecturer at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, in the Drama Department since1989. I have also taught at various Adult Education Centres in the area. The main focus of my work, however, is in my private practice where I work with people of all ages and needs.
I qualified as a Craniosacral Therapist in 1997. My interest in learning this therapy developed from my interest in healing on a more subtle level. I was drawn to study this therapy not only for its subtlety and gentleness but also its effectiveness.
Every Craniosacral Therapist has an area of expertise and mine is working with those with chronic neck and back problems, muscular-skeletal problems or chronic pain. While I do not usually treat babies or very young children, I love working with pregnant women and older children.
